A German Tradition

I'm really excited to show you this Nutcracker that I made. Shhh, it's a Christmas gift for my boss, but I'm giving it to him tomorrow morning, so I think it's ok to post this tonight. He wanted a real Nutcracker from Germany, but this was the best I could do. :)
This is from the kit "Clara's Christmas Eve" from SVG Cuts. Thanks for looking!

Are You One Of The Stable Few?

I really enjoyed making these for Christmas gifts this year! I'm on my seventh one, and one more to go with a different design. Thanks for looking!

Merry Christmas!

The reason for the season - the birth of our Lord Jesus! His humble birth in a manger is depicted in this nativity set from SnapDragon Snippets, found in their online store here. You can find all the nativity pieces in the store...Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, wise men, an angel, plus the animals, and even the stable! It's a fantastic set; I hope you can get every piece and make your own set!

Thanks for joining me today! Merry Christmas!

Movie Night

Movie night! Veggie Tales, Red Vines, and Kettle Corn are on the agenda! Here is a cute popcorn tub that I decorated with the Movie Night file from Miss Kate Cuttables, found in their online store here.

I used the title and the popcorn files on the front of the tub with black, white and red vinyl. We're ready for our fun evening with the grandkids!

And a little surprise when we're finished...a funny saying in the bottom of the tub!

This was made using the MKMarker font, also found in the Miss Kate Cuttables online store here. I hope you've enjoyed sharing our movie night! Thanks for looking!

Pilgrim Hat

Hello! Today I'm bringing you the 3D Pilgrim Hat Large Décor, and can be found in the new SnapDragon Snippets store here. This is a nice large decoration, and would look great as a focal piece, placed on a pedestal, or grouped with other Thanksgiving items! It comes with all of the accessories shown except the large flower and ribbon!

This is also in a fabulous kit called "Pilgrim's Prayer" in the SVG Attic store here. I hope you pick up this fun-to-make hat and embellishments and get one made for your Thanksgiving day festivities! Thanks for looking!

Painted Ponies

Here is a beautiful modified carousel made from a file by SVG Cuts. The original file was made to hold 8 cupcakes, with the ponies glued to toothpicks and stuck into the cupcakes. I wanted a permanent carousel, so I modified the base design and  put the ponies on gold-painted poles. The tent lid comes off, revealing a box to hold any kind of goodies, or even a gift!

I love the holographic blue paper, the blue bling, the rhinestones and the gold glitter bases for the ponies!

Here is a close-up of the pony. They are so adorable!

Be sure and leave a comment! Thanks so much for joining me today!

One File, Four Projects!

Hi! Today I'm bringing you some projects made with "Leaf Tile" found on the NEW Snapdragon Snippets store! I just wanted to show you that a file can be used in SO MANY ways!
Here it is the focal on the front of a card.

Here I just reduced the size and added vellum to the back, and put four of them together to make this cute little tea light.

Isn't it pretty? Be sure and use a battery tea light!

In this one I made it into wall décor. I love the monochromatic tones!

More wall décor, but I used two different colors and created a shadow box for each one.

I hope I've encouraged you to look at files in new ways. I can't wait to use this on a scrapbooking layout, too! Thanks for joining me today!

Scarecrow Wreath

I made this scarecrow and wreath many years ago from an idea in a crafty magazine. The poor little guy was falling off and the wreath was so ugly, so I found a nice grapevine wreath and re-made it! He is happy and secure now, and I can't wait to get this put up on my porch for the rest of the fall season! Thanks for looking!

Fall Punkins

I love these wood punkins that the grandkids helped make! We spent one Saturday painting, then the following weekend we finished them up! They are made from a 4 x 4 that was cut into chunks. I love the stems made from sticks! Thanks for looking!

Embossed Technique

This is actually an older card, and I've just kept it around because I think it's so beautiful. My friend Pam also helped with this background technique. We stamped and colored the flower, then embossed it with clear and colored the background. Thanks for looking!

Mixed Bunch

Here's a cute card made with the Stampin Up Mixed Bunch stamp set and punched with the corresponding punch. The background is stamped with soft suede and the border is punched. It has a solid color flower behind the main flower to create a shadow effect. Thanks for looking!

More Black Cats!

Look at this cute file from the new store at  Snapdragon Snippets! It's a simple cat box to put treats in! I made 7 so I can give them to the grandkids and the children of my co-workers! They really do go together in a "snap"! Thanks for looking!

Black Cats!

I saw this on Pinterest and couldn't resist, especially since one of my granddaughters is such a huge cat fanatic! The momma and young'un are made from a 2 x 4, and the papa is made from a 2 x 6. Simply paint them black, distress the edges, add the wiggly eyes and twine, and these cute kitties are done! I did spray paint clear matte acrylic over these so they could be left outside. Thanks for looking!

Coneflower

This is a nice technique taught to me by my friend Pam. It's stamped with Versamark and clear embossed on glossy cardstock, then dabbed with alcohol inks. Thanks for looking!

Fall Flight

Today I'm so excited to present my first project for Snapdragon Snippets! Hi, this is Debb and I  made this awesome Corsair fighter plane from the kit "Ready for Takeoff" found here. It's a wonderful, detailed airplane with a propeller that really moves! Can you just imagine "Pappy" Boyington or one of the Black Sheep Squadron taking a fall flight in one of these?

All of the details are perfect! You can find it in the Silhouette Store here, and a great construction tutorial to make it here.

Thanks for joining me today!

Quilted Cards

I'm REALLY needing to find ways to use my scraps. Well, when I have leftover fabric, I make a quilt, so when I have leftover paper scraps, what do you think I do with them? Make quilted cards! I love the look, especially when I emboss the quilted piece, but I think they look really cute without embossing, too. I have to admit, they take a long time, and really don't use up many of the scraps. That's ok, though. It gives me a chance to get out the Big Shot and play awhile, and I can make a lot of these little card fronts to use for any occasion. They also look really cute when cut out with the One Note die from Stampin Up.

Beautiful decorations for a Golden Anniversary celebration! Yummy cake with gold piping, and a flower and pearl bedecked candelabra from the Nevermore collection at SVG Attic.

God Bless The USA

Oh, I love these items made with the Vintage Nation paper pack from The Paper Studio! And....I used it with the Vintage Nation collection from SVG Attic!

I used a color-changing battery tealight on the inside, and it's just like a firecracker!

Thanks for looking!

The Key West Lighthouse

The beautiful Key West Lighthouse is the single photo on a scrapbook page featuring the "Cape Cod" files from SVG Attic. I loved working on this page! The fishnet was a great background for the photo mat, and adorned with the starfish and shells, it looks quite lovely. I used the fence and sand details for the bottom of the page, and anchored it with...an anchor! The twine sailors knots on the journaling box finished off the nautical themed page. Thanks for looking!

Rockers For Scholars

The local event, "Rockers For Scholars" raises scholarship money every year for a student from one of our local schools who is preparing for a career in the arts. Local bands get together and play, and have a silent auction to help raise the funds. This year I made and donated a couple of musical items for the silent auction. It was such fun to create these pieces, made from files by SVGCuts.

This vintage-look guitar is 11" tall and has pearls on the head and the bridge.

This jukebox, styled after the iconic Wurlitzer, has a color-changing tea light on the inside, shining through the colored vellum side panels.

Please be sure and leave a comment! Thanks for looking!

Winter Storm "Luau"

What a LOOOOONG winter in Indiana! Since they started naming the winter storms, I decided to use a play on that new trend and call my party "Winter Storm Luau!" What fun! Family and friends, good food, and good music; a perfect recipe to beat those winter blues! I hung the flip flop lights from our camper, and the grandkids and I made a bunch of other decorations.

In the above picture, you can see the cute guitars (we pretended they were ukuleles) and the parrots on the top of the windows. These were from a file called "Luau" from SVG Attic.

Group/family picture here. The colonnade was decorated with paper lanterns from the same file.

Close up of the cute parrot. Actually, the grandkids put these together! They are quite good at making things from my ZING. This parrot was enlarged to make it as big as we could on a 12 x 12 paper.

The kitchen baker's rack was transformed into a Tiki Bar, using the same guitar file
for the ends of the sign.

Another view of the paper lanterns and leaves. Oh, and Jazzie had to be in the picture, too!

Proud Grandmother

Four fabulous grandkids and Swarovski crystals make for a beautiful Grandmother's bracelet.

The birthstones are July, March, March, and March. The last two are twins!

Because all of my grandkids belong to my daughter, her Mother's bracelet is exactly the same! And her mother-in-law has these four, plus two more, so her bracelet (in the middle) has the two additional grandkids added to it.

I love the sparkle of the Swarovski crystals, and I'm a proud grandma! Thanks for looking!
